Asst. Prof. Dr. Samed Yasin ÖZTÜRK, a member of our department, came second in the 97th Year Most Successful Doctoral Dissertation Award Competition.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Samed Yasin Öztürk was awarded the second place in the 97th Year Most Successful Doctoral Dissertation Award Competition with his doctoral dissertation titled "Intercultural Communicative Competence and Global Citizenship Education of ELT Student Teachers Through Telecollaboration", which he completed at Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences, and successfully defended on October 7, 2022.
In his dissertation, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gonca YANGIN EKŞİ, Dr. Öztürk aimed to examine intercultural communication competence among Turkish pre-service English language teachers through a distance collaboration project with the theme of global citizenship education. The two-month distance collaboration project involved participants from four different countries. As a result of Dr. Öztürk's PhD dissertation, it was revealed that distance collaboration greatly supported the intercultural communication competencies of the participating Turkish EFL teacher candidates.
We congratulate Dr. Öztürk, who will receive her award at the award ceremony to be held at Gazi University, and wish him continued success.
